I bought this charger to charge 12v and 24v systems on my new boat. When connected to a 12 or 24 volt system, it will automatically detect and display which system it is connected to. It also reports the charge status of the batteries. It then also reports the amperage at which it is being charged, which will eventually decrease as the battery is charged. When the battery is fully charged, the charger automatically goes into service mode, but at this point I unplug it to avoid wearing out the fan, as the instructions say the fan should always run while charging. With many products I've had over the years, the first thing to break is the fan, so I'm just trying to salvage the fan. The description of the charger said the charger also repairs batteries, which I thought was sooo true. My lawn mower battery was basically dead and I had to charge it every time I used it and the next day it was dead again. I decided to try this new charger on this battery and indeed it seems to have rejuvenated it as it now holds a charge for weeks. This charger actually paid for itself immediately because now I don't have to buy a new lawnmower battery this spring that costs more than the charger. The short cords don't bother me at all either, I just put the charger on top of the milk crate so I can see all the lights and understand what it's doing. This product is so cheap I don't know how long it will last but I just have to say I'm very happy with it for now.
