Any loose dye that gets caught during the wash is a problem
I've taken up quilting - yes, another sneaky silver lining. I love the color contrasts but worry about the color washing after hours of sewing and quilting. My last blanket was dark green and blue with a pale reverse side. Throw in some of those color traps, fingers crossed and woohla, the color traps picked up some green and blue but didn't leak through and transfer the color to the comforter. Simple and no more praying to the fabric gods during the wash cycle.
