Used in retractable RV

I have a 10 month old crawler/cruiser that we took with us in our retractable RV. The weather report promised heavy rain, which meant we would probably be stuck in the camper the whole time. This little guy loves to move, but there is not much space on the floor, and what little is usually dirty and used by other people who move. I needed a solution to give my child a playground. This bed rail can be disassembled for compact storage, which was a must in a retractable RV. It must also be able to be fixed without the use of screws. It has a long strap that goes under the mattress and attaches to the opposite side of the bed. We also went ahead and ran it under the tarp on the outside of the end of the bunk for extra security as it's not an actual mattress. The length was perfect for the pop up. There was about 12 inches left which we placed at one end of the rail so my older brother and I could easily get in and out of bed when needed. We simply blocked the opening with a gym bag or other object so the child couldn't get out. This bed rail is definitely sagging a bit but it seemed sturdy enough for a 10 month old and I didn't care if he was leaning on it. We just made sure big brother knew not to lean on him. These railings turned this bunk bed into a giant playpen. The little one could have the whole bed to crawl and play with his toys and the mother was sure that he couldn't fall and he had the freedom to do things. As you can see from the picture the height of the handrails was excellent. A pop-up mattress is only a few inches thick, so a real mattress isn't high enough to prevent children from climbing over it. We got ready to go home. This means I don't have to parse it every time. The mattress only lifted a few inches where the rail's "legs" are under the mattress, so the pop-up had no problem closing. Due to the edge of the extendable bed frame, we cannot use the lowering function. when used in this situation.
