I recently purchased Wooden Handled Marshmallow Toasting Sticks, a retractable fork set of 5 Smores telescopic skewers for use around the campfire. We tried them for the first time this weekend, toasting marshmallows over a smor. The telescoping feature of these skewers allowed us to roast marshmallows without getting too close to the fire. We've found that if you don't tilt them slightly during use, your marshmallows can slip off once they start toasting. Once toasted, care should be taken not to touch the hot metal when removing the toasted marshmallow (a little tricky once it's fully extracted, but easy once you get the hang of it). The cleaning wasn't that bad. One of our users HAS roasted marshmallows and left a burnt residue on his teeth. Removal required brushing with steel wool rather than hand washing all other skewers. Overall these skewers have been a huge hit with the family and we look forward to using them again.
