I've loved Circulon for decades. And this frying pan is no exception: it's amazing, excellent, great. And thanks to its size and ability to heat up in the oven to up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit*, it makes a great grill. Conducts heat quickly and stably. (*Frying pan up to 500, lid up to 350.) The combination of non-stick rings and metal allows for better browning. You can also use it to better separate the browned surface of the food. Also easy to clean. A smooth curve from bottom to top allows for easy blending. It also has a slightly "curled" top edge. Because of the way I mix, both features help me minimize lateral tilt. The handle on the lid is not only elegant, but also ergonomically perfect. I've never liked a pan lid more than this one, and having tried and collected many, many pots and pans in my time, that says a lot. The handle of the pan is tapered near the pan with a bulge further out, making it easier to grip and hold. There is also an auxiliary handle. I've just moved from a smaller kitchen which prompted me to get rid of the pans. It's almost Thanksgiving and I don't have a brazier. But then I realized that you can put a duck, a large turkey breast or a three-rib roast in this pan. Maybe even a tightly tied ten pound turkey? So I don't think I'll rush out and buy a real roaster before the holidays. I have a well used Circulon pasta pan that has lasted for decades and is still in perfect condition, including the non-stick coating. Its underside hasn't scratched my induction hob so far. Conducts heat quickly and stably. Looking closely at this new frying pan, I expect nothing less from it. My most used pan has always been a five quart sautΓ© or saute. I went through two of Calphalon and used the third when it appeared on my horizon. But that Calphalon pan doesn't brown well. I also use an American Kitchen 12-inch skillet with high sides and two accessory handles. It's a great pan, but it doesn't have a see-through lid and like Calphalon, it doesn't brown well. Neither Calphalon nor American Kitchen have a heat limit that prevents it from going in the oven, so this one from Circulon wins by a mile!
