Great for quick replacement

In my work, I regularly come across drives that need to be installed outdoors for various reasons. I've accumulated tons of external mount kits covering everything from SCSI to IDE, Sata and Msata, but I haven't added an external device for M.2 devices yet. Up to this point I've used some traditional external enclosures, but it required a lot of extra steps to properly install the drive. A few years ago this wasn't a huge problem, but now it's getting to the point where the vast majority of desktops and laptops typically have m.2 drives so it's become a problem in some situations. I ended up removing most, but not ALL, of these steps for a quicker, easier replacement. In terms of speed, this external device is right where it should be for standard SATA operations (faster NVMe drives will saturate the USB-A port as expected), and USB-C is slightly slower than some of my other external enclosures . , but not that significantly . The real beauty of this device lies in the faster ability to swap out M.2 devices for quick access. I usually always have two quick connect cables for USB A and USB C. The only glaring downside is the lack of a proper heatsink system like in the few other cases I use. This isn't a problem for short-term work, but some NVMe drives can get very hot under prolonged stress. If you're looking for a long-term external enclosure with a quality heatsink design and cooling to properly cool a hot NVMe drive during long workloads, you may need to look elsewhere. However, for my target requirements (easily swapping out SSDs), this drive gets a 5/5.
