Almost worth the price

Smart, looks good, fairly easy to use, expensive but worth most of the cost. Heavy duty cast hinge and bracket. The step is made of hollow, lightweight aluminum but feels strong enough to get the job done. I'm about 225 and don't see a problem, but you have to consider the height you personally need to lift your leg first and then go to bed. I liked this model because you can hold the bed with your left hand when standing in the down position on the back door. I'm tired of stepping on the bumper and lifting the trunk lid. This is stowed almost flush with the bumper and only becomes apparent when it is lowered. I'm afraid I could leave it in the down position and it would damage the bumper mounts, but for the most part I really like the idea. What I don't like is the instructions. You will need a mirror (showing the opposite side of my model), an engineer, and a psychologist just to walk you through the initial setup check that you are about to do. Once you get under the trucks and realize there can only be one way to install it, the rest of the installation is pretty easy. Before you begin, make sure you have a 10mm spanner. Overall it took less than 45 minutes to unbox, install and review the completion instructions (I had an hour off to do other things). It's not really good for anything other than helping you get into the back of the truck to deliver groceries that rolled back into the cab. While well made and serving that purpose, my wife had trouble justifying the price. It can only be mounted on one side without exhaust pipe. So if you have a dual exhaust, forget about this purchase. I couldn't use hitch pickup step types because the ones that pop out don't retract behind the spare tire and the ones that recline look terrible. My estimated cost of this would be less than $100. I'll update in a year or so so you know how spring holds up.
