Do not purchase this product if you want to use the full screen of your TV. I bought this product together with the console. Since I bought my Wii man I was able to use it for 2-3 days before this converter arrived. To my surprise, the Wii actually supports widescreen TVs and looks pretty good using only AV cables. As soon as this converter arrived I was excited to see how much better it would look and admittedly it does look better but I'm stuck with two black bars either side of the screen. I checked the manual to see if they fix this and they do, but the solution of changing the resolution to 480p and widescreen didn't work. I've included 3 images, the first is with the HDMI converter in 480p 4:3, the second is in 480p 16:9 and the third is back to the AV cables at 16:9. I tried putting my hand off the controller on the left side of the screen so you can see where it ends up. I am very disappointed that most TVs don't come with this adapter because I would love to use it. I would not recommend getting it.
