This may be suitable for a young person who does not have problems with stiffness or mobility, or for a very small person. But for an older woman, even a tall one, that's a bad idea. I found the handle to be too small (diameter) and short (length) making it difficult to grab and hold and difficult to position properly. I suppose the rounded edge is meant for comfort but only causes cleaning issues as some urine gets under the rounded edge when you empty it. Also, it doesn't stand well on its own because it's a bit heavy in design and the bottom isn't perfectly flat, so I was worried about leakage. Anyway, I threw it away and ordered a different brand and style. Note: All of this applies to standing use. I would never try to use it while lying down.
