This should work great with my Vortex 85mm spotting scope this year. There seems to be very strong window clips, a horizontal pan and a vertical pan movement. The metal is very strong and heavy, not flimsy at all. The button on the side is a bit difficult to turn with gloves on, but thin gloves are fine. Someone else said they wish they had an adapter to go from that window mount to a tripod mount. Like all things, there are accessories. I use a Manfrotto liquid head with a QR plate so I use their 1/4-20 mounting plate adapter with a QR plate on this mount, then I can take the QR plate attached to the spotting scope and move it to my tripod head and this is attachment. Not so hot what's up. These Manfrotto QR Plates release with a lever and lock securely into place by simply pushing the plate into the adapter or tripod head. You don't need the Manfrotto brand, there are many fakes out there that are very similar and will do the job.
