Review on 🧑 Garmin Forerunner 310XT: Waterproof USB Stick and Heart Rate Monitor in Gray/Orange - The Ultimate Fitness Companion by Daryl Barton

From 305 to 310XT via GPS, viewfinder and accessories

After about 7 years and 40,000 km, my Garmin 305 has finally stopped bothering me. Jumping out of the cradle and falling onto the road hitting a pothole didn't help. I looked at several Garmin sports computers and other GPS computers and settled on the 310XT. It's an upgrade from the 305, and while it doesn't have multi-colored maps and real-time data uploads, it has all the speed, distance, heart rate, and other standard measurements I need while running or riding. . The 310 has a few extra data points, and you can even set it up so it doesn't start automatically until you hit minimum speed. (Sometimes the 305 would run away for a few seconds even when I stopped at a traffic light, affecting my average speed.) There are also plenty of customizable alerts, although I haven't used them yet. And the battery lasts at least twice as long as the old 305. At about half the next step up, it's a steal. Perhaps the nicest feature is Garmin Connect. Uploading data from 310 to a website via a computer is completely useless. Transferring data doesn't even require a click, although you have to open the website to see it. The site lets you set goals, create routes, view maps of your runs/runs, and tons of other motivating fitness information. If you're a Strava fan, Garmin data can also be easily ported to this page. Great product for running, cycling and swimming athletes and at a great price. Also buy a quick release kit if you intend to use it on your bike. I hope to live at least 7 more years.
