Poor filter performance - replacement water filter

The product I filtered came out cloudier and dirtier when I walked in - something I've never seen before. How was that possible? I checked and checked and the fit was correct and installed properly. Yes, I also made sure that the flow went in the right direction. very disappointed with the performance of this cartridge.
