However, very fast storage. it costs money?

Since I bought this product, the cost per gigabyte of an SSD has come down significantly. However, there are a few caveats about NVMe storage that I didn't address initially with this purchase. Am I satisfied with the performance of this drive? Yes. Absolutely. Does this make my PC 4x or 5x faster (based on speed factors for NVMe/M.2 vs regular SATA SSD transfer speeds)? no Some operations might be "almost twice as fast", but in general the performance gain is closer to 15%. Another factor for NVMe storage is the limited TBW for longevity. I was able to go through ART of crazy tweaks and setup configurations for my OS to use NVMe for read-only purposes instead of writing temp files or disk caching/swapping. However, it was a great learning experience. If I have to limit writes to this drive and then use slower memory to read and write temporary files and for caching just to "justify my money", will I really fully benefit from the purchase? It's like balancing. Just note that NVMe storage has fewer disk writes to handle before it fails, and despite read/write transfer rates, actual system performance isn't consistently 4-5x faster compared to average SSD storage devices. . If you're shelling out money for storage that small, make sure it's the right one. I have a lot of extra space on my other storage devices. But I've used some machines with only NVMe/M.2 drives that fill up quickly and run out of space. Is this ride fast? Yes. Is the overall system performance gain from installing this drive overstated? Maximum.
