This package is really great. Installation and operation with or without a fan in just a few minutes. This is a great and very convenient inexpensive Linux desktop system in addition to all its hobbyist benefits. I have tried RPi 1B+, RPi 3B+ and now RPi 4B with 4GB. This thing is almost as fast as any other Mac or Windows system I've used for basic tasks (web browsing and email). The camera module from the first set of RPi 1B+ works well with RPi 4B, stable 4 years later. I think it's just a very comfortable desktop system. It performs matrix multiplication with "nothing out of the ordinary" code with 2 gigaflops double precision. Another single precision test returned a result of 5.5 Gflops. Blender and Gimp work right out of the box (sudo apt-get install blender (or gtk)). Sonicpi works great. Other RPis have always been too slow to be used as a typical everyday desktop, but now this thing is close enough to be used on a daily basis. The OpenMP implementation with gcc works out of the box (does not apply to Mac or Windows). I agree with the other 2 reviews. The on/off switch on this power supply is a definite plus. Everything is faster than the RPi 3B+. Very impressed with this little box.
