We bought these to hang from the ceiling for a Harry Potter themed party. The light is turned on by turning the top down. NO SWITCH. I'd love to use them the same way for Halloween too, but I'd have to take them off to turn them off and on every night. A switch would be better. They have a shimmering light that looks gorgeous. They are not very bright, so you also need additional lighting and use them for decorative accents.
