Bought this to travel around rural Northwest Washington (Kitsap Peninsula). The kit isn't very expensive, so there's value for money here. Some caveats - Trees and mountains interfere with the signal. It works great in the Seattle area. Also, if you are using a cassette deck adapter, be sure to use the controls on the separate receiver module to reduce the output (it's in the XM menu), otherwise the cassette function will very easily be overridden. I have it on a pole, I would like to go deeper. Finally, it's difficult to hide for anti-theft reasons, and the air vent attachment system allows for easy sliding around. However, it is suitable for infrequent use, for example on the go. For such purposes I would buy it again.
