Accurate but takes a long time to show a reading
I tried an ear thermometer for my cat that was not consistent at all but gave readings almost instantly. This thermometer is consistent but takes 30-45 seconds to get a reading which is a long time to hold it in place. Be aware that it takes significantly longer than the description states. Overall it works and is a reliable pet thermometer.
