When I finally figured out what blade to use in my Cricut I was able to get started. I had to label and magnetic tape them to keep them from moving. All 40 blades were considered. There was only 1 blade that wasn't perfect and not sure if it could be used. The standard thin blade (red) cuts well, as does the one that came with my Cricut (but not chipboard). I tried to cut very small cardinals on chipboard, but it didn't work out. My old original thin blade worked better than any of these new blades. But on very thin very hard wood veneer, the deep-cut blade (blue) turned out to be a surprisingly good blade! I wasn't sure I could have used a deep blade in a thin blade holder like others have mentioned, but it fit and worked. I bought an expensive Cricut knife blade to cut the bird into thin wood, but the tails kept breaking off and didn't cut all the way through, even after several passes. I had to make the birds a bit bigger and less detailed. I used this deep blade and they came out very well. They cut through, fewer passes and didn't mess up my mat.
