Review on πŸ“¦ Royal Consumer DG Electronic Shipping Scale: Accurate 110lb Capacity for Efficient Deliveries by Shannon Harris

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Generally a good device for home use.

I bought this scale from Sam's Club for $24.62 to replace an old Metler Toledo 8213 shipping scale I used that was made sometime in the 80's and broke. I use this scale to weigh packages of items I sell on eBay. These scales appear to be fairly well made, although they don't measure up to the quality of Metler Toledo's commercial scales (which cost around $500), but they're good enough for home use. The scale comes with a stand, a digital remote display and a USB cable. It can be powered by 4 AAA batteries (included) connected to the remote display or via the included USB cable. The cable needs to be connected to the reader and can be powered from a USB port on a PC or a cell phone adapter plugged into the wall socket (not included). The USB cable is for power only, not for data transfer. The case and digital display are plastic, but the scale has a metal top in a plastic frame. The digital display has easy-to-read blue digits. The scale can weigh up to 110 pounds and weighs to within 0.1 ounces. Ideally, I think the base could be a bit larger to accommodate larger items more easily, as the base measures only about 7.75 x 6.5 inches, which is less than half the size of a commercial (and some other home) shipping scale . The "business" part of Libra is also at a distance. Batteries are included in the remote, which is fine, but if you want to connect your device with a USB cable, plugging the cable into the remote can also become tangled. But overall it's a good device for what it does.
