I live in northern Arizona and have been using a hybrid solar system for 3 years. I have a large 12v battery with two separate inverters and also mains power. I've tried to rely less on the state-owned power company. My system worked like a dream until last winter when I was gone. We had almost no sun while I was away and my batteries were very low. Batteries have never been the same - not as efficient. I came across this product and almost couldn't believe it. It turned out to be exactly what I needed for my solar system. I connected it. Like another buyer, I connected my grid ground to inverter ground to AC output ground. I hooked it up to one of my inverters powering my huge ice maker/freezer. I set the low switch voltage to 12.2 and the high switch to 14.4 (I want the batteries to get a really good charge in the morning before switching the fridge and freezer back to batteries). THIS THING REALLY WORKS! He switched power from inverters to grid so quickly that he didn't even notice the refrigerator. Normally, the refrigerator's computer keys will light up and beep when the power is turned off. As I said, it kept buzzing as if nothing had happened. I ordered a second one to switch my computers, dash cam, flat screen TV, etc. I will set the switching voltages for this inverter so that they only switch back to mains when the batteries get much lower. I am a satisfied customer and would recommend this to anyone trying to get the best of both worlds between solar and grid power themselves.
