Before I bought these shoes for my 12 year old son, I saw reviews that said they wear out quickly. So far my son has kayaked them or walked the river, sea and beach for a week on vacation with no problems, no visible wear or holes. The following week he wore them to the water/theme park for three days. So far no scuffs, holes etc. My child is very picky about how shoes/socks feel on their feet and he loves it. He said it was like wearing good, comfortable socks (they have thin, flexible rubber soles). He also told me (although we have plain black ones) that they never get hot on his feet, which bothered me when he wore them to the water/theme park because he had to walk on the hot asphalt. at a temperature of 90 degrees. They also dry quickly. Overall it was a hit with us and I will be ordering more in the future!
