I bought this item for a street cat who adopted us. We have given him flea medication but the fleas will be effective again in three weeks. I was concerned that repeatedly using the meds on him more than once a month would not benefit his system, so I thought I'd put a flea collar on. After reading the reviews of this product I decided to give it a try without really expecting much. Boy was I wrong! I couldn't find any fleas on it for several hours, and that goes for up to two weeks. He looks healthier and now his hair is growing back as the fleas don't bother him. The smell is not strong at all. The bonus is you get two per pack so I know I won't have to repurchase for more than a year. I definitely recommend this product for your cat. Seeing how well this works for an outdoor cat, it might just be better for a pet.
