I was looking for a product that I wasn't sure existed and then found this tray and it's perfect! Instead of using it for ice cubes, I use the tray to hold and freeze a batch of sauces. I bought the first one to store plum and mustard pork sauce which I love but my husband doesn't like it. I fill each cube with exactly the amount I need, throw it in the freezer and just take the cube out when pork is on the dinner menu. SO EASY! I bought another to use for homemade pasta sauce when the large sauce containers are too big to eat - like ravioli. Cooking for myself, a cube. Feed someone else - two dice. These are just two examples of many. Luckily, these trays stack well! Used in this way, the tray is ideal for singles, couples and people whose tastes differ from other family members. It was a great find for us - OXO is back out. One last note: I don't have a hard time knocking the dice off the tray. I wait a minute after the tray comes out of the freezer, which makes it very easy to remove the lid, and then lift the cube off the bottom. If this is difficult at all, a jet of hot water directly onto the chosen cube works great.
