I have hangers but now that winter is here I had to take out our winter coats and my lightweight hangers just couldn't handle it which is why I bought these. These are great for our coats, not a one broke or stretched from the weight. I used some to hang umbrellas, pocketbooks, and camera bags on so I can neatly have them hanging and save that limited shelf space for items which can't be hung. These hangers are tubular, not flat (the flat ones leave marks on sweaters in the shoulders) and can handle much more weight than those thin flat plastic hangers. I am very happy with this purchase.
