I've had three Skullcandy Ink'ds over the last few years (original first now just replacing after loss), this is the first update since the design update ('Plus") . The sound and battery seems to be the same as the previous version, although I'm sure there may be some minor upgrades that I'm not aware of. The physical design has changed the most. It used to be the Volume/power buttons are plastic, now they're rubber As others have pointed out, the rubber is very easy to disassemble - to the point where my power button gets twisted and I have to gently lift the rubber to align the plastic clip In addition, the small rubber cover of the USB Micro-B port does not close properly and only interferes with charging the earbuds with anything other than a very long US Metal B-Micro B plug. If you can find it, go with the old version - save yourself a lot of headaches.
