I wanted to love this pen with all my heart and soul. But the thing was garbage and I got so angry I threw it in the bin. 1. - I cleaned it before use. The tails became very tarnished leaving a black residue (carbon I guess) on anything that made the cut of meat rough. I was almost afraid to use it until I read that it seems to be common with anodized aluminum. 2. - The suction power of the little cup is a joke. The force required to turn this thing took it off the table every time. I ended up having to hold it with one hand and turn it with the other while my wife guided the sausage. 3rd - pain in the ass clear. Cannot be washed in the dishwasher. A lot of meat was wasted in the nozzle and behind the "pusher". 4th - Hot Dogs after this all turned out fine.
