I use this cut to shape my needs for a variety of purposes such as: like my tin tray to empty the contents of my bag at the end of the day (I know there are specific products for this - I happen to be lying in my tray). There is a blind hole in my headboard that I made in it to muffle the noise if something is placed there at night. Wherever protection from scratches is needed, this is a practical thing.
