Great Washer and Detailer

If you've never used this be sure to read the instructions. 1 part superplasticizer to 20 parts water. I use a graduated medical syringe (who doesn't have one at home when they have kids?). This product works by lowering the surface tension of the paint (and water) and allowing the paint to flow freely. Detail work becomes much easier, as does washing. I bought 2 4 oz bottles and I barely touched the top 20% of one of them! A little goes a long way.** UPDATE** July 15, 2014 I've found that I can thin the paint enough that the underlying color shows through and blends. even color that is normally opaque. If you try to do this with just water, you might be able to dilute it to the point where the binders in the paint aren't holding well. Flow Aid allows you to dilute the paint almost without much water (due to the significant reduction in surface tension), making it a wonderful wash to apply over an existing layer of paint, allowing you to create a unique blend that would otherwise be impossible would . One way I use this newly discovered technique (new to me anyway) is to create slightly darker areas of the same color in the natural folds of the clothing of the tiny figures I'm drawing to give them a nice depth. A secondary benefit is that it greatly extends the life of expensive paints thus significantly increasing your paint costs and I've barely touched the first bottle I bought!
