I may be the only one who disagrees, but this dryer worked fine for me. For many, many years I have had a basic Conair dryer which I believe cost me around $30. Nothing fancy, but the job is done. This dryer is very similar to this one. Everything except the price which is much higher. It has some features I don't like. The button layout is the same. The layout of the options on the rocker switch is impractical and seems backward or counterintuitive to me. It's different from other Hot Tools hair dryers I've owned, which I found odd. In addition, the diffuser head is too small for me and the tines too close together. I have VERY curly hair. A good (big!) diffuser head is an absolute requirement and this one was too compact for my needs. The power is I'd say the same as my trusty Conair. meh Well, I've recently seen how great Hot Tools' customer service and warranty are, so there's definitely something to be said for having these options if you ever have an issue with this product. Recently another Hot Tools product stopped working for me so I called and they immediately sent me a new one! So your customer service is really top notch. Honestly, this makes the high price of this product more acceptable. It's rare these days to find a company that stands behind their products like this. So this is a reliable dryer. He has some quirks that don't make him my favorite, but that doesn't mean he's still bad. That. The price is a bit high compared to my trusty Conair. But Hot Tools is an amazing brand that I know from experience really stands behind their products, which absolutely helps allay any concerns about getting what you pay for in the long run. This dryer should last a very long time. But if not, the company will fix it. This is a good investment.
