When you need base layer protection in sub-zero temperatures

I rarely write reviews on fabrics but this company knows how to make base layer clothing. I live on the Canadian Midwest border and we have harsh winters due to the cold winds and sea location in my area. This means that a significant part of winter passes in sub-zero temperatures. Usually in the coldest period some -50 days. I've worn a few different base layers and they all promise to keep you warm and dry plus a few other useless claims. With the exception of a few high-end expedition gear companies, none of them have hit the mark. Either too thin or too thick, wrong combination of materials etc. etc. Well, for me that's the holy grail of the price range. And you should too. This material simply gives the feeling of slipping into a well-fitting chinchilla. If you've ever pet one of these, then imagine wearing them all the same experience. To put it mildly, it's quite comfortable. Very warm without burning you in its own juices and defeating its purpose of making you sweat which can then cool you down when it gets chilly. Seems to absorb moisture surprisingly well given the thickness of the material. Very nice that now you don't have to wear 3 layers, a softshell and a coat, just to feel comfortable. When it's bad outside I use that base coat, then either a soft shell or a top coat. But so far I haven't had to use all 3. Between this and this company's heavy base layers, you can't go wrong with multiple sets. They are sewn very well so I expect they will last many seasons with no problems. Take the set for yourself and you will see what I mean.
