I have a fairly old computer that I built in 2022. It is assembled on the basis of the Asus P5K motherboard, with 4 gigs of RAM and a Core 2 Quad Q9300 quad-core processor. I've been going to change it for a long time, but sometimes my hands don't reach, sometimes I have a problem with money, sometimes I can't decide what I still need, to assemble a computer, or to buy a good laptop. Yes, and I became attached to the old man, to be honest. Despite the JMicron JMB363 controller that died back in 2022, which I just stupidly disabled in BIOS. In the meantime, I decided to take this drive so that I can use it on my future machines. Now a little with what I encountered. I was frankly too lazy to rearrange the system from scratch, especially since I did it in the spring due to an accidental power outage while loading Windows. I decided to clone the disk, but I doubted that Acronix could do it. The manufacturer's website has a beautiful presentation about "Samsung_Data_Migration_Setup". I decided to try to transfer this program. True, it says there that the Samsung 860 drive must be connected via a SATA to USB adapter, which costs money. I decided to try without it, connecting to a free SATA port No. 2. Just in case, I also had a plan "B", this is to get this adapter from a portable USB disk for a while. Everything turned out fine, the program saw the drive and transferred all 400 gigs to a new drive in an hour. Then I turned off the computer and unfastened the old screw. Let it lie down for a month, if everything is normal, I will return it to the system under the file storage. When loading, one cant also sometimes arose, the system required to insert disk F. I cured it by ating the BIOS to the latest version. There is a video on how to do this for the Asus P5K on YouTube. The most interesting thing is that I replaced version 1201 with the same 1201, and the jamb disappeared. I also noticed that if you created a system disk by connecting it to a connector with a number such and such, then you will not be able to rearrange the cable to another port, the system will not boot. Something like this. So far I'm very pleased.
