Review on 🏃 ASICS Men's Gel-Contend 5 Running Shoes for Enhanced Performance by Terrance Castle

There have been several periods in my life, each lasting several months, where I have been running fairly consistently but never progressed. I decided to get back into the sport almost five years ago when I was in my 30's and haven't stopped since (just for water breaks)! It was the first time I realized I needed proper running shoes and somehow I stumbled across the Asics Gel-Contend series (3rd generation I think). These have been my only running shoes for the past few years - pun intended because if they don't break, they can't be fixed. I know my size, they're comfortable and supportive without feeling overly soft, and they've saved me from injury in marathons, half marathons, tens of miles, countless 5k's and thousands of miles of training. Best of all, they're CHEAP! My running friends often spend over $100 on shoes and have different pairs for races etc. But I never use anything but these and have never paid more than $50. As a result, my wallet doesn't regret replacing it every 400 miles (about every 3 months). When I got back to running I found that cheap new shoes are better than expensive old ones so I'll just keep buying them until one of the two generations comes out at the end of my 3 months. Or better yet, just keep checking back and buy them when they sell out and keep a few in reserve. The only thing that worries me is that I always get a blister on the second toe of my right foot in these shoes. But since I haven't worn any other shoes for so long, that might not be the case with these shoes. Not enough to deduct a star.
