I have pineapples, ornamental pineapples, bougainvillea and some vine spiky weeds growing in my garden and I have had to avoid scratching my feet when gardening near these plants. I saw that they got good reviews and were reasonably priced, so I decided to give them a try. I needed to avoid scratching my feet because I use a Quell Calf Pain Relief device and it cannot be used on broken skin. These work great! I had never used gaiters or anything like that and figured they might come with instructions like most other things. There were no directions but they were easy enough to figure out having read reviews and seen pictures of others. I live in a warm part of the country so I wore them over bare skin most of the time and over old sweatpants a few times when the weather was cooler. They worked great and kept the spikes from scratching me even when carts tried to fight back and punch and grab me lol. cool enough that my feet don't sweat underneath. I'm so glad I took a chance and bought it! Pros: Good price, easy to use, effective against thorny/thorny plants, cool enough for use in warm weather, keeps water and dirt on your feet, easy to clean, just brush or shake off dirt. The medium size fits this 5ft 3in woman well and has room to wear over waterproof boots and jogging pants. Comfortable to wear with long pants or bare legs. Package except for the top drawstring which was a one time adjustment. Cons: The lace hook slipped off my laces a few times (they're relatively thin, round laces) - not a problem for me, but maybe for others. It could be user error and my laces may have been too loose. Something could probably be crimped to make the laces tighter if you need to make sure they don't dangle. Of course, how else could this be avoided if they didn't have a way to make a Velcro loop instead of a metal hook to attach to shoelaces.
