It wasn't until today that I realized how cool these things are. I love crab, but I'm usually more inclined towards king crab than white crab because it's very easy to get the meat out of the king crab's big leg and the snow crab's skinny legs are a pain. If I were trying, kitchen shears using it to cut one of those little legs to length, you'd tear the flesh inside. Despite the simplicity of these little fish forks, they work incredibly well on skinny crab legs. The forked end works very well as mini scissors when cutting the length of a skinny leg without destroying the flesh inside. Then once you open it up, the opposite end is great for scooping out the meat. Very convenient.
