Received and immediately started cooking white basmati rice. Very nice little stove, exactly the same size in aluminium, bought 11 years ago and still working. Aroma is a very good brand and I thought of Panasonic, Elite and even Zojirushi. But either the price for it is offered by itself. The insert is steel plated, so I add a teaspoon of oil to the water and rice. The pot has a certain weight, which I like; feels tighter. Rice can stick to the bottom, but it's not difficult to clean. Tip: Rinse the rice thoroughly to avoid splattering or splashing, and use a little oil before the rice and water. The 2:1 ratio should be like 2 cups of water to 1 cup of rice. It has become fluffy. It is also best not to use dishwashing sponges or sharp objects. I don't want to try and see everything is steel as I just bought it and don't want to bother with returning it. One thing though, it gets hot when it's cooking and it's best to turn it off so no more rice sticks to the bottom. My older one turns itself off automatically as the keep warm function no longer works. .What happens further down the trail remains to be seen. But now I love it and I miss rice if I don't eat it for a month and I ditch the aluminum, plastic etc. Cheap enough and I'm careful not to worry about it for now. Will update if it stops working after a short time or so. Otherwise it's a good simple gadget as my ex keeps the old one.
