Great inexpensive power supply.

The cheapest power supply in the world. If, as I sometimes do, you reach into the trash and find some external laptop power supplies (usually 19 to 20 VDC) and use them as a DC voltage source, you suddenly have a very good, pseudo-precision regulated power supply to work with. Bank. Since it has current limiting, without a more serious heatsink, I found it reasonable to set the current limit to a maximum of about 1.5 amps and just adjust the voltage. The board layout doesn't support a closed case mount and for that I found it useful to desolder the push button switches and display and extend the wiring with connectors so that the display sits above the rest of the components as well as the switch.
