Review on Pyle PLTTB3U Belt Drive USB Turntable: Record & Convert Vinyl with Digital Software by Joseph Marquez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good MP3, WAV sound

Pros: Good MP3, WAV sounds; The device feels quite pleasant and solid; pitch control with strobe (included, although the description says "no"); replacement pen. Pros (minor or only when needed): Anti-skating; Adapter for 45 rpm. Cons (major): No stereo recording (2 channels in WAV, MP3 files, but with **identical** waveforms. Although some other reviewers point out that sounds from the preamp out are true stereo.) Cons (minor): Poor does it does not activate player, does not return automatically at the end of the recording; The USB cable silenced all players on the computer; no internal speakers (so if there are no external speakers, you can only play WAV and MP3 files afterwards). Features to look out for: No automatic splitting of music pieces (1 separate piece for the entire side of the recording; you can split manually.) The recording may come out as a flat line if the input setting (microphone icon) isn't the right choice . The USB Audio Codec setting usually works. This setting may change unexpectedly when you move the USB cable. Audio-enabled recording: This setting is best always **disabled**. When it was on, it would stop recording between songs, making the songs sound weird from start to finish. This option is meant to turn off hissing noises, but there's no way to tell them apart from the extremely quiet noises you still need.

Pros
  • Soft-touch start/stop buttons - Detachable flash (not included) - Headgear, dust cover and 45 adapter included
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised
