Review on HOLDWELL Shutoff Solenoid Cummins Pickup by Jeff Olson

This FSS relay is not an exact replacement for a factory part; Instead, it's a very similar part that works for this app. As this is not an exact factory part I didn't give it 5 stars but it totally gets all 4 stars because the relay works. For the low price of $10 I ordered two so I can keep a spare in the glove box. I replaced the stock FSS relay on my truck (1996 Dodge Ram 2500 12v Cummins) with this Holdwell relay and everything works as expected. I would recommend wrapping the joint in duct tape for some weather protection. By the way, after replacing it, I removed the factory relay and it turned out that nothing happened at all, it worked perfectly and did not even need to be replaced. At the same time that I replaced this relay I also replaced the 14 gauge blue fuse that connects the relay to the battery, turns out that was the problem all along. So, before replacing the FSS relay, first make sure that your stock relay is actually faulty; In many cases it is not a bad relay but a bad fuse that is causing the truck not to start.
