I installed them in the garage on a 2x4 I installed them horizontally and into some 2x4 studs in the walls. While they provided mounts, I decided to provide my own. The ones provided look adequate and I have saved them for future use, but I may have OCD and used the same fasteners. The rest of the material is secured in the garage so it looks the same. The orange finish on the hooks and the black color on the mount were consistent from hook to hook, a testament to the attention to detail in the manufacturing process. This job involved replacing a number of different hooks that my dad installed when we first moved into the house. Overall these hooks appear to be good value for money and I would have no hesitation in recommending or buying them again.
