Best Design in Thermometers and Timers

I had one of those nasty meat dishes with a metal tip and a huge one Pressure gauges have been sitting in my kitchen drawer for years. Being a vegetarian, I have it once a year on Thanksgiving when we are hosting the family and cooking the turkey. If you're even a little familiar with old-school thermometers, you know that their pointed stems are very thick, so a lot of juice comes out when the flesh is punctured, plus the dial moves slowly and is quite erratic/inaccurate when doing the reading temperature measurement. . This miniature digital model is a definite improvement. First, it folds neatly for storage and doesn't take up much room in a desk drawer. It has a thin stem that forms a relatively small opening to minimize moisture loss. And I love the digital display (much better than hesitating to see the dial wiggle). But most importantly, it seems to be fairly accurate [within a degree or two]. I tested it by holding it under my arm to take my own body temperature and in the required six seconds I got a reading of around 96 degrees. Not too old. This is a great alternative to old-fashioned "analog" food thermometers.

Pros
  • Extended temperature range: -40ยฐf to 572ยฐf / -40ยฐc to 300ยฐf
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
