This may sound a bit odd, but I'll post it anyway. While searching for humane ways to ship fish after catching, I came across a Japanese technique known as ikejime. It's a painless (if done right) way to kill the fish and keep the meat fresh. The problem is that you need something very sharp to get it right. Luckily, ice axes and awls are PERFECT for this situation. The Stanley Wooden Kratzahl may or may not be a 5-star item for normal use; However, for my app, it definitely deserves a 5/5.
