This is a beautiful plaid flannel dress. It's well made and doesn't look like an oversized flannel shirt like many other dresses of this type. The A-line skirt makes it stand out, but I cropped my three inches (I'm 5ft 4) and undid the first few buttons as well relaxed and let the collar sit a little wider. All this gives the dress more shine. and keeps it fresh. These types of dresses can look majestic when not fitted properly, but when done right, they are gorgeous. The most beautiful thing about this dress is that it has an attached sash around the waist that sits naturally (not too high or too low) and can be tied in a variety of ways. The dress in the photo is stylized in such a way that it first wraps around the front, wide criss-cross, and then wraps and ties back again. This gives a unique look, but it was too bulky You can also just pull the belt back and fold it in - although I did find the buttons on my chest came loose slightly in the process (not bad, but enough to bother me , if someone looked closely). My solution was to simply pull the belt forward and then tie it in a slightly off-center loop (you could just use a knot instead of a loop). I love it! There were no gaps, it hugged my waist better and the bow in the front hung low enough that added to the flow of the dress. This dress is perfect for fall and winter events when you want to look pretty but don't need to dress up completely.
