Machines with this attachment are not really designed for hard floor cleaning. This tool raises all moving brushes off the floor so it only cleans a portion of the nylon mesh wrapped foam (white in photo) and a fixed row of red brushes powered solely by the machine's reciprocating motion across the floor . . There is a scraper for removing water, but it's not very effective. This means that the floor must be clean before starting work. If you have a tile floor that is even slightly soiled, you should look elsewhere. Oh, and the instructions (there was nothing in the machine's manual with the tool itself) don't tell much about what the tool should be. Set up. It's not difficult, but it's not obvious either.
