Review on 🌾 5-Pound Ammonium Sulfate (NH4)2SO4 by David Dober

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very pure nitrogen source

We use it to fertilize garden flowers and potted plants. It's a *great* readily available source of nitrogen (21-0-0 plus sulfur). She fits perfectly into our Northeast Florida soil and produces good growth and flowering. Our Bougainvilleas are AMAZING this year. Neighbors almost do not bloom. Provides no phosphorus or potassium. This is usually normal as most soils contain more than the plants need anyway. but only a soil test will tell you that. (Don't just use fertilizers and additives based on the needs of the plants - base them on the needs and consider what's already in the soil). Nitrogen is consumed the fastest. We use 1 tablespoon of ammonium sulfate per gallon of water in a watering can and water as usual. We do this once a month because we feel that's all we need. Dissolves instantly. Easily adjustable with fluid application for the exact amount you need. It can also be used dry, either mixed lightly into the soil surface or spread (usually for lawns), but we prefer to dilute it.

Pros
  • Laboratory chemicals
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
