I had a remote control for my DirecTV Genie. For the price of 2 of these I now have an extra one! I had some programming issues, but it was just impatience and wanting everything to happen immediately. Just be patient and the program will work perfectly. The only thing they don't tell you is the actual process of programming which I found online and used successfully. Let me help you with this: 1. Point the remote control at the Genie box2. Simultaneously press and hold the Mute and Enter buttons until the green light on the remote flashes twice3. A message will appear on the TV screen that "IR/RF use”4 has been set. press the menu on the remote once this is complete5. Go to Settings & Help > Settings > Remote Control > Remote Control (these may not be the right words, but you get the point) 6. Choose your TV brand and let it do its magic! Welcome back! :)
