My chickens loved it and got it right away! I have 10 girls all different races. The biggest problem was that the top birds got all the treats and the lower tier girls got nothing, so I'll order a few more. The ball separates in the middle so I just scooped scratch seed into the bag and closed the ball with both halves filled. (Then I thought it might actually be too crowded to empty while skating, so I shook it a bit.) A little later I found the ball empty and in the corner. I refilled it and found later that they had pecked it all the way through the door and it was covered in snow outside. They don't like snow, so that must mean they like it! As I said, I'm going to order a few more so they can all play. (I think as with all treats it needs to be filled depending on the number of scratches. And maybe I'll take balls in between games to keep the toy fun. Once they get used to it emptying it will lose interest.)
