Well made, high quality headphone patch cable

This 3.5mm right angle 3.5mm TRS TRS patch cable is well made and performs exactly as expected. I bought (3) of these (1.5ft long, two red and one black) and they are all high quality. I use them to connect the output of various portable audio devices to the input of my portable headphone amps. They have very high quality 3.5mm plugs. The body of the right angle connector is made of plastic while the straight end uses a metal shell. The contact surfaces of both connectors are gold plated, and both connectors make solid, silent contact with every output and input connector I've tried them with. This included three different iPods, a Mac laptop and a pair of FiiO headphone amps. I also measured the electrical properties of the cable/connector assemblies. The average contact resistance (3) of the cables I have was: 148 mΞ© for sleeve-to-sleeve resistance and 149 mΞ© for each of the tip-to-tip or ring-to-ring signal paths after subtracting the probe contact. resistance which was 65 mΞ©. The capacitance of the shunt, either peak-to-peak (left channel) or ring-to-ring (right channel), ranged from 48 to 51.5 pF with respect to the sleeve lead (common). Measurements were made using a Fluke 4-point milliohmmeter and a General Radio capacitance bridge with line reactance compensation. There are no strain reliefs where the cable enters the connector body so care must be taken not to bend the cable excessively but with proper handling and care this cable should hold up fairly well. As expected, the short connection cable connecting the low-impedance headphone output of the iPod and the high-impedance FiiO amplifier input (I use a Fiio E12 amplifier) was absolutely harmless in terms of sound. I have read numerous reviews on this cable that say the cable "improves bass" or "improves clarity" and of course these claims have no factual basis. This cable sounds just like the molded, cheap Hosa cable, or even the cheaper "nameless" cable (assuming that cable has the right pin), but it's better made and looks a lot better, so it's worth it. small bonus. This cable does not affect the sound of the headphone output in any audible way (good or bad). If you have a low-Z headphone output that is affected by less than 1/5 ohm series resistance or 50pF shunt capacitance, then you have a very defective signal source. If you seriously believe that this cable improves the sound transmission between headphone output and headphone amplifier input, you should dare a real double-blind comparison test. It's just a transparent "non-amplifying wire" that moves the stereo audio signal from "A" to "B" with no change. The attached photo shows the cable between iPod and FiiO E12 amplifier with both possible connector orientations.
