Installation of the holder is very easy and straight forward and the holder is very strong and more than adequate for our 12" spare. . The downside to this holder is that the two carriage bolts that attach the tire to the holder can be placed in two different configurations for a 4 or 5 hole wheel, the only way to keep them in place without welding , consists in putting the screws between the holder and the rod, in this case the rod does not rest against the holder and can shake. I decided to weld on the rear carriage bolts, after which I found that the bolt spacing was slightly smaller than the wheel hole spacing and I had to bend down a bit to get it all in place. Bottom line, getting the tire the way I wanted it was a painstaking process. If I didn't mind leaving the carriage bolts loose and risking losing them when unscrewing the replacement part, the process would be a lot easier.
