These lights were purchased for use outside of our home. We tried using a twilight timer to make the lights control automatic, unfortunately you have to manually reset the driver to turn them back on each time the timer cuts power to these lights. This makes it impossible to use any type of timer. You have to go outside and turn them on and off manually. They have a remote control but it doesn't work if you are within 5ft of the driver. It's pointless! We plan to use them at home next year so we don't have to go outside in the cold to put them on and take them off. If you are planning to use them to decorate the outside of your home, you should look elsewhere. They are not user friendly when it comes to ambient lighting.
