Review on 📷 Silver Canon PowerShot A810 Digital Camera with 16.0 MP, 5x Digital Image Stabilized Zoom, 28mm Wide-Angle Lens, and 720p HD Video Recording (OLD MODEL) by Dontra Majmudar

I bought this camera to replace one I thought had been lost at work. Price was the most important factor and it had to be Canon. I bought it based on some positive reviews and didn't have high expectations. So I was very pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The camera is small and light. It's smaller than I expected and thin. Everything is plastic and feels solid. It has no viewfinder. The LCD screen is large for such a small camera and shows good detail in outdoor lighting. Degraded quality in low light or indoor lighting. The camera is easy to hold with one or two hands, and there's a sizeable protrusion under the shutter button. There's no texture to help hold the camera, but the protrusion has a clear edge that you can grab with your fingertips. My biggest complaint is that the power button is next to the shutter button. The buttons have the same color and texture, differing only in size, so it's easy to confuse them. The camera turns on quickly. The menu system is easy to access, you put the camera in live mode and you can access all the special shooting modes by repeatedly pressing the thumb wheel. In Auto mode, the camera chooses the mode for you. I find Auto meets most of my needs except when photographing people, in which case I prefer Portrait mode. Shooting movies is easy, just press the red button. I haven't used movie mode extensively. The zoom lever sits around the shutter button, which is where I prefer it. The camera comes with the digital zoom enabled. The digital zoom cannot be switched off in auto mode, which I don't like. It can be disabled in live mode. After years of lugging around with DSLRs and superzooms, a few years ago I decided to switch to smaller cameras. The images the A810 captures have well-saturated colors and lots of detail, which can be seen on screen or in prints up to 8x10. In fact, I find the image quality amazing for such a small and inexpensive camera. Compared to the camera phones most people use, it takes amazing pictures. On the screen of my laptop it takes no worse pictures than with my superzoom. I give up some zoom range and lens speed but get a camera that fits in my pocket. I get that convenience without sacrificing image quality. Given the price and size, I highly recommend this camera.
